The GOOD bills are starting to flow. Hallelujah!
Now that Republicans have a clean sweep of the key Capitol Hill offices – the House, the Senate and the White House – expect some great and speedy movement on conservative-leaning bills that have been stalled and stopped by Democratic opposition.
For example, the House just passed a huge bill that permanently bans taxpayer funding for abortion, a move that thrilled Pro-Lifers everywhere. Now, that has been followed up by a proposed bill that falls into a similar category.
If this passes, it’ll be another huge step in the right direction for those who value life. Those who see the Planned Parenthood atrocities and feel like vomiting because it’s just THAT disgusting.
Steve King from Iowa has brought forth the following.
The Heartbeat Protection Act of 2016, H.R. 490, restores legal protection to children in the womb whose heartbeat has been detected by medical personnel.
King, of his bill, said: “It is a profound religious and moral understanding that every human person has the right to life. The question that has hung before the courts since 1973 is, ‘when does life begin?’ We all know when that is,” Breitbart reported.
King, whose bill has been backed by scores of Republicans like Reps. Louie Gohmert, Trent Franks and Scott Perry, said it’s impossible to define life by the number of weeks of pregnancy, and it’s far more accurate to use a heartbeat.
And here’s the teeth of the bill: Those who perform abortions in violation of this measure, if it becomes law, could face up to five years in prison.
This is a good time to be a conservative, isn’t it?
Protecting the unborn, protecting the most innocent among us, should be a core principle, no matter which political party leads in office. Unfortunately, Democrats have long been representative of the voice for unfettered abortion.
Now that Republicans control the House, Senate and White House, however, there’s a very good chance King’s common-sense measure will pass.
