What a greeting for visitors.
The U.S. Capitol’s newest piece of artwork, hung proudly in one of the well-traveled hallways, is of a scene so disgusting, it makes evening news watchers cringe. It’s one of those things that make American gape in astonishment; not because it exists but because someone decided it’d be a good idea to PROMOTE it.
But here it is, in all its graphic glory.
“A piece of art depicting police officers as pigs with guns terrorizing a black neighborhood is currently displayed proudly inside our nation’s Capitol,” Independent Journal Review reported.
What a travesty. It’s a piece of political commentary, not a true work of art…so say the Leftists.
“The untitled artwork,” IJR reported, “which supposedly symbolizes the unrest that followed the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO, was selected as part of the annual Congressional Art Competition. It currently hangs in a tunnel between the U.S. Capitol Building and Longworth House Office Building.”
The painting shows a downtown city street scene with three police officers, two with guns in hand and all sporting the heads of pigs, in front of marchers. A sign propped against a car hood reads “Stop Killing.” Another sign reads, “Racism Kills.”
And of course, the painting was praised by Democratic Rep. Lacy Clay.
“As you can see from the artwork on display here, the level of talent is truly impressive. [The artwork] work is inspiring, and I encourage all of you to continue to develop your creative abilities.”
No matter that the whole Black Lives Matter and “Hands up, don’t shoot” movements and mantras that sprung from Ferguson were based on lies, on the false notion that black 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by white officer Darren Wilson as part of a targeted attack. Rather, Wilson was cleared by both local police and federal authorities who found he shot in self-defense.
The bottom line is this is insulting and disgusting. No two ways about it, libs.
