California Thought It’d Be A Good Idea NOT To Arrest Criminals – And Look What Happened

Commie-fornia. The most abhorrent state in the republic.

Despite its massive economy, overall, it’s still an anchor dragging the rest of the nation down. The left-wing policies afflicting the state do more than affect the people living there; they’re bad for the whole country.

Thanks to the absurd left-wing policies, the people of the state are suffering. But it’s hard to have any sympathy for them, considering year after year, at every level, they continue to put radical leftists into office.

One of the radical policies the state put into place several years ago is finally having its effectiveness assessed, and the results are exactly what you’d expect.

As reported at The Blaze, in 2014 the voters of California went to the polls and approved a proposition that would ease the overpopulation in jails and prisons by loosening law enforcement standards on crime.

The law, they were told, would have zero affect on crime in the state, and if anything, it’d actually reduce it.

But three years later, now that there’s ample data to sift through, local law enforcement officials are blaming proposition 47 for a drastic increase in crime in California.

Via KTTV-TV, arrests are down 30 percent since the new law, but violent crime is up an incredible 40 percent in Los Angeles alone.

According to estimates, the Inland Empire region in California rose from ranking 9th in the nation in vehicle thefts to 5th (per 100,000 population) in just one year–from 2015 to 2016.

But, but, those car-jackers are just doing their job re-appropriating the wealth from those rich folk!

Riverside police Sgt. Sean Brown blamed the change in the law for the increase in crime.

The punishment is very minimal,” he said. “If nobody goes to jail for committing a crime, what’s to prevent them from committing more crimes?

Ontario police Sgt. Jeff Higbee said that because of the new laws, there was “little to no jail time associated with a single theft.” It seems leftists have forgotten what a deterrent is.

California Assemblyman Matt Harper told Fox News in April he believed the laws led directly to a rise in crime.

California is certainly having a significant problem with the increase of crime in our state,” he said.

The only thing that’s really showing a difference in terms of how we approach crime and criminals is this change in our law allowing people to be able to go out on the streets, which previously they would have stayed in prison and not be committing crimes.

To play these nonviolent offender games [is] a recipe for disaster,” he concluded.

The proponents of proposition 47 was un-ironically called the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act, and it passed with nearly 60 percent approval by the voters.

Well, you reap what you sow.

Undoubtedly affecting the rise in crime is also Commie-fornia’s love affair with illegals. Since the major cities are sanctuaries for illegals, and their border is as porous as Spongebob, it would seem they’re actively trying to make the crime problem worse.

But don’t expect anything to be done about it.

Liberals in charge don’t give a damn about the opinions of the people who are actually affected by their asinine policies.

Therefore, California will continue itss slow collapse, as native residents flee the desolation and the state becomes de facto Neo-Mexico.
