President Donald Trump has made plenty of controversial decisions already.
Conservatives will likely agree they’ve been necessary and welcome decisions, however. Trump’s wonderful weekly address, where he summarized his many MASSIVE moves, is still ringing in our ears.
In a good way, of course.
And now, mere hours after the president made his Supreme Court pick (which we leaked well ahead of time, by the way), Republicans have stepped up to deliver a very huge boost to newly selected Supreme Court justice Neil Gorsuch.
Hey, a $10 million endorsement goes a long way toward bolstering one’s confidence, even when we’re talking about embracing an incredibly difficult new position.
From Fox News:
“The conservative group Judicial Crisis Network on Tuesday night launched a $10 million, multi-media ad campaign in support of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee — getting a jump on the looming Senate fight as progressive and liberal-leaning groups gear up to oppose Trump’s pick.
‘This is the type of partisan politics the American people just rejected in November,’ said JCN chief counsel Carrie Severino.”
JCN started in 2005 to help promote judicial appointees of then-president George W. Bush. The organization also plans to launch a website with more info about Gorsuch, along with pictures, videos, etc.
The group says this is part of a larger “center-right campaign” that includes about 50 other groups representing Second Amendment advocates, anti-abortion organizations and the Tea Party movement.
As for Gorsuch, many see him as a worthy replacement for the late Justice Antonin Scalia, who passed away in February 2016. As for Gorsuch, JCN chief Carrie Severino added that they will target any Senate Democrats who wish to block this pick:
“Our campaign will be holding the Senate Democrats … accountable for their choice.”
She also said Trump chose Gorsuch because he is “exceptionally qualified — a fair and independent judge who bases his decisions on the Constitution, and he is widely respected on both sides of the aisle.”
Thank you, Ms. Severino.
Now, if only we could get some funding money for a truth-seeking campaign about Muslims in America…that hugely shocking FBI report is still one of the most terrifying things we’ve read so far in 2017.
