This clear enough for you?
There are some who believe President-elect Donald Trump is backing away from his campaign vow to A. Erect a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico (even if it’s not a physical “wall,” per se, but a high-tech barrier of sorts), and B. to make Mexico pay for it.
However, despite all this skepticism, Trump threw down the hammer on Friday and made his intentions abundantly clear. There is no waffling, no ambiguity, no what-if, no backing away; THIS is what’s happening and that’s that.
Obviously, that is just just “that” with the leftist media and Trump-haters in general, but it’s the best he can do right now. His top counselor, Kellyanne Conway, can only echo those sentiments and the American people are just going to have to accept them.
According to a new Fox News report, Trump has lashed out at the media for the aforementioned reasons, and swears the American people will not – ultimately – pay for the wall:
“Top aides reportedly are considering a plan to ask Congress to ensure money is available in U.S. coffers for the wall, while relying on existing law that already authorizes fencing and other technology along the southern border. The funding development was cast in some outlets as a reversal by Trump on his promise to stick Mexico with the bill.
In an early-morning Twitter response, Trump called the reports ‘dishonest’ and suggested the U.S. would only be putting up money for the ‘sake of speed’ — and vowed Mexico would eventually pay it back.”
Senior adviser Conway confirmed this again on Fox & Friends and added:
“He is going to build that wall, and Mexico is going to pay for it,” she said. “That has not changed.”
We don’t know specifics yet; i.e., how much Trump will ask Mexico to pay. This could be a major sticking point as Mexico isn’t exactly happy about the idea of a wall in the first place. But in the eyes of many, and considering the illegal immigration ordeal that continues to hamper the country, it absolutely has to happen.
One thing you can say about Trump: This guy isn’t about to go back on promises or vows or oaths. What he says, he means. It’s one of the big reasons he was elected, you can be certain of that.
