Flashback to 2014: Homeland on Showtime. Claire Danes played Carrie Mathison in one of the hottest shows on television.
The premise: Mathison who works for the CIA, falls in love with an expatriate American soldier who converts to Islam and now does the bidding of a radical Islamist jihadi.
The show was amazing (it isn’t anymore, hasn’t been for awhile) but was amazing because she was a hardcore detective with unbelievable powers of deduction.
Lo and behold, right around the same time, a real life FBI translator in our government…we’ll call her Daniela Greene…who has 100% access to hypersensitive documents on national security and terrorist activity both here and abroad, begins communicating with a very charismatic German rapper by the name of Deso Dogg (real name: Denis Cuspert).
He converts to Islam and changes his name to Abu Talha al-Almani.
He begins praising Osama bin Laden and threatens President Obama. Then he appears in a propaganda video holding the freshly severed head of (presumably) one of his victims.
Greene, apparently enamored of his “bad boy” image, decides to run off to Syria to marry him.
She lies to the Bureau about her destination and arrives there in the arms of her betrothed, warning him that he is under investigation by U.S. intelligence agencies.
“An FBI translator with a top-secret security clearance traveled to Syria in 2014 and married a key ISIS operative she had been assigned to investigate, CNN has learned. The rogue employee, Daniela Greene, lied to the FBI about where she was going and warned her new husband he was under investigation, according to federal court records.
Greene’s saga, which has never been publicized, exposes an embarrassing breach of national security at the FBI—an agency that has made its mission rooting out ISIS sympathizers across the country.
It also raises questions about whether Greene received favorable treatment from Justice Department prosecutors who charged her with a relatively minor offense, then asked a judge to give her a reduced sentence in exchange for her cooperation, the details of which remain shrouded in court-ordered secrecy.
The man Greene married was no ordinary terrorist.
Can we defeat this enemy? Not if liberal progressives are in charge. Ms. Greene is a federal law enforcement agent; she took an oath to our Constitution.
She disavowed her oath and collaborated with the enemy – and not just any ol’ enemy but a member of the most savage and barbaric group we’ve seen since the Nazi SS. And she pleaded guilty to just making a false statement?”
But here’s the rub: She confessed, pleaded guilty to making false statements about terrorism, and got only two years in federal prison. She has since been released.
Yes, really. And of course, Leftists are trying to turn her into some kind of victim. Honestly, this just gets stranger and stranger…
In this season of Homeland, Carrie Mathison has abandoned the CIA and now has joined the Islamic cause. Have the writers been following Ms. Greene?
Truth is stranger than fiction.
Strange things certainly happen in reality, like when karma struck a group of ISIS terrorists last week…what sort of karma can Daniela Greene expect now?
