Oh, poor President Obama.
One day, on top of the world – listed and considered as one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful.
But now? He’s on his way out – and that looming exit from White House office means he’s on his way down in terms of most powerful.
Forbes released its annual list of “Most Powerful People in the World,” and Obama has fallen. And he’s fallen hard.
“In 2015, Obama was listed as the third most powerful person in the world, via Forbes’s annual list,” the Independent Journal Review reported.
“Forbes’ 2016 list has the president falling … hard,” IJR reported. “We’re talking jumping out of a plane at 35,000 feet without a parachute, hard. Obama didn’t make the top ten. He didn’t even make the top 25.”
Ouch. That’s got to hurt.
“The current president of the United States is listed as the 48th most powerful leader in the world,” IJR reported. “Even North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un is five spots ahead of him.”
For Democrats, that’s shameful. For Republicans?
It’s time to cheer.
“Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin earned the #1 spot – and the president-elect came in at number two,” IJR reported.
Looks like Obama’s a has-been. Trump, meanwhile? An up-and-comer. Perhaps it stands to reason that a president on his way out falls on the list, but we’re all willing to bet good money that had Obama’s legacy not been tainted with scandal after scandal, he wouldn’t have fallen THIS far.
Time to look to the future!
