Will Donald Trump be calling John Kerry to apologize to Iran for this latest incident at sea?
It was a little more than a year ago that the Obama administration was getting ready for the State of the Union address that was to tout the Iranian nuclear deal.
Just as things were about to be a raging success (before even one teleprompter word had been spoken), bad news hit: An Iranian vessel took 10 U.S. sailors hostage and questioned them about their whereabouts.
Typically in a provocative move like this, U.S. officials are quick to denounce the actions and threaten sanctions.
But in this case, Barack Obama sent his favorite whipping boy – Kerry – out on an apology mission to ensure that the Iranians were not insulted by their kidnapping of our military personnel.
…and now, we hear about another shocking Obama/Iran scandal that shouldn’t surprise anyone.
Well, maybe Iran needs to stop provoking America because with this new administration, it could get VERY bloody for the Middle Eastern taunters.
“On Monday, an Iranian Revolutionary Guard ‘fast attack craft’ approached a U.S. guided missile destroyer and came within 1,000 yards of the American vessel.
According to Fox News, the Iranian attack ship had its weapons manned and ready. In response to the encroaching threat, the USS Mahan manned its own weapons and fired off warning flares.
It wasn’t the first time that the USS Mahan was forced to fire flares or warning shots to urge an Iranian ship back off.
In January, the same American vessel fired warning shots from its .50 caliber machine gun to get the attention of four different craft that were coming too close.”
It seems that the Russians are testing our borders near Alaska, Syria is testing our capacity to enforce a “red line in the sand,” North Korea is testing our patience, and now Iran is testing our limits.
When push comes to shove, I’m not sure that the Russians are actually trying to start a war. I believe that they are engaging in peacetime shenanigans.
As for the Syrians and the North Koreans, it’s apparent they have no compunction about using nuclear and chemical weapons on anyone with whom they cross paths.
Finally, there’s Iran. …and it’s a fair assessment that this will not be the last time that they try our patience.
