It takes a big man to admit when his party has lost, fair and square.
And when he drops a hefty truth bomb on his own party and calls out his team’s failings, well, it’s a refreshing change of pace. Mostly, we’ve heard and seen nothing but whining and hostility from the left ever since Donald Trump won the presidential election.
Now, the Democratic Party is scrambling for answers to the “shocking” question: Why did Hillary Clinton lose? They’re blaming everyone, from Russia to FBI director James Comey to Trump himself.
The problem is they’re not looking at themselves, as many political analysts are urging them to do. Most democrats seem incapable of looking in the mirror and spotting flaws – and God forbid they should take strides to FIX those flaws – but vice president Joe Biden did just that.
In a recent LA Times interview (as cited by Fox News), Biden had a simple explanation for why the democrats didn’t win this last election: “We didn’t talk to them.” Frankly, he said his party failed to connect with the voters and even admitted that “a bit of elitism” had crept into the party.
“I believe that we were not letting an awful lot of people — high school-educated, mostly Caucasian, but also people of color — know that we understood their problems.”
This is a tough interview for democrats and liberals to read (and accept), but they really need to read it. Apparently, Trump’s rise startled everyone, including Biden, who said to himself at some point during the voting:
“Son of a gun. We may lose this election.”
Well, you did. And the people who voted for Trump?
“They’re all the people I grew up with. They’re their kids. And they’re not racist. They’re not sexist. But we didn’t talk to them.”
Of course, it’s still scary that Biden apparently has plans to run for president in 2020:
