The extreme left, which constitutes much of Hollywood, threatened to leave the country if Donald Trump won the presidency.
When he did, they predictably wimped out and decided to renege on their threat. Either that, or they were never serious about leaving in the first place, and were really doing nothing more than stomping their feet like outraged toddlers.
Yeah, we know it’s the latter.
Nevertheless, they remain committed to living in a country where the voters who elected someone president can be run out of office, not over any proven crime or misconduct in office, but because they hate him and his policies.
They couldn’t care less that this spits on the Constitution. Only their wounded egos and immature rage matter.
One of the great lights of the militant, loony-left is Michael Moore, someone who represents everything that young Americans should not grow up to exemplify.
He has now claimed that he will not live in a country where Donald Trump is president, but since he will not move out, his next plan is to organize thousands or millions to institute a campaign of insulting the president to the point that he quits.
It’s quite a plan, even for Mr. Moore.
“‘I refuse to live in a country where Donald Trump is president and I’m not leaving,’ the 63-year-old filmmaker said during his appearance Wednesday night on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.'”
Of course he’s not going to leave. There’s a good chance that wherever he went few would care about what he has to say, and his jumbo-sized ego couldn’t take that.
“‘So somethings gotta change,’ he added. ‘We have to form an army of citizens and come at him like a swarm of bees where he’s hit one way, all the way. Because I think the way to bring him down is with satire.’
“‘His thin skin, as you’ve pointed out so well, is so thin,’ he continued.
‘All we need is like a thousand or a million little comedy shivs–just, you know, non-violent, don’t hurt him, but just under his skin. Because he can’t take being laughed at.'”
Mr. Moore may be projecting some of his own weaknesses on President Trump. If Moore observed any part of last year’s election, he would know that one thing at which President Trump excels is dishing out insults and making sport of his competitors.
It’s so well honed that it’s often thought to be one of his less than salutary skills. How could Moore have missed that?
At least fewer and fewer people appear to be listening to him. That’s the good news.
Thus, he remains a liberal noise-maker whose impact on American politics, while very negative, is likely to remain limited to fellow left-wing loons whose batting average when it comes to making sense is vanishingly low.
