In 2013, Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy signed a law into the books that, in essence, made millions of gun owners in the state felons overnight.
In the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre in Newtown, Malloy decided to capitalize on the tragedy by using it as a pretext to ban guns and magazines that allowed someone to have more than 10 rounds in a clip.
The gun owners were required to turn in such magazines, but there wasn’t one State Trooper in Connecticut who was looking for lawbreakers in that regard.
Now, yet another state is going to turn millions of gun owners into lawbreakers overnight.
And really, you only get one guess as to which state…the same state where nutbars like Maxine Waters hold sway.
“The State of California just passed more draconian gun control measures along with the citizens ignorantly voting on fear-mongering ballot initiatives.
Beginning July 1, any gun owner who owns magazines that can hold over 10 rounds is supposed to give them up. They either have to destroy them, give them to police, give them to gun shops, or sell them out of state.
So far, no one has seemed to comply and sheriffs are saying they aren’t planning on seeking out gun owners and checking their magazines.”
Of course, you can bet criminals won’t care about this new law, which is part of the reason why gun control simply doesn’t work.
At least, not in the way Democrats intend. Furthermore, “voluntary compliance” will be an issue, and it’ll be very difficult for the police to enforce the new rule.
STORY CONTINUES BELOW…
As The Sacramento Bee reports:
“The law does give California gun owners several options to get rid of their magazines, including moving them out of state, turning them into law enforcement, selling them to a licensed dealer or destroying them by July 1.
Some gun shops also are offering to permanently modify magazines to make them legal.
Voluntary compliance among otherwise law-abiding gun owners is another matter.”
In 2014, in the state of Connecticut, GOP lawmakers challenged the Governor’s anti-gun bill, along with a bunch of Gun Rights Advocacy groups, but to no avail.
We doubt any GOP lawmakers will challenge this bill in California.
Besides, hasn’t California banned the GOP by now? If not, you know they’re working toward that goal.
