There are so many alleged scandals in progress one would be forgiven for experiencing “scandal fatigue.”
After all, Barack Obama is currently embroiled in so MANY disturbing scandals, it’s easy to lose count.
All scandals these days seem to come from two sources:
One would be leftovers from both the corrupt Obama administration and the misdeeds of the even more corrupt Hillary Clinton.
The other source would be scandals manufactured by Democrats and leftist groups in order to derail or destroy the Trump presidency.
Today’s scandal falls into the first category.
This would be the discovery of evidence pointing to the misuse by Obama of intelligence agencies to gather information on Americans, likely for many years.
“The National Security Agency under former President Barack Obama routinely violated American privacy protections while scouring through overseas intercepts and failed to disclose the extent of the problems until the final days before Donald Trump was elected president last fall, according to once top-secret documents that chronicle some of the most serious constitutional abuses to date by the U.S. intelligence community.
More than 5 percent, or one out of every 20 searches seeking upstream Internet data on Americans inside the NSA’s so-called Section 702 database violated the safeguards Obama and his intelligence chiefs vowed to follow in 2011, according to one classified internal report reviewed by Circa.”
You know when the ACLU is forced to criticize a Democratic administration things must be serious indeed.
STORY CONTINUES BELOW…
“‘I think what this emphasizes is the shocking lack of oversight of these programs,’ said Neema Singh Guliani, the ACLU’s legislative counsel in Washington.
‘You have these problems going on for years that only come to the attention of the court late in the game and then it takes additional years to change its practices.'”
So Mr. Obama’s claim that he would lead an incredibly transparent administration was a sham.
Instead, he set new standards in the covert surveillance of Americans.
We’ve heard this story before.
Bill Clinton claimed he would lead a transparent and ethical administration. It’s not possible even to say that while keeping a straight face.
Now, if it’s possible, it’s even funnier to look back on Obama’s claim of a “transparent” administration.
