They’re going to do everything in their power to make Donald Trump’s term more complicated.
Really, it’s what democrats do: use subterfuge and sabotage to get what they want, and to hell with things like policy, laws, regulations, etc.
Now, the GOP has expressed some concerns over the Obama administration’s drive toward “midnight regulations;” i.e., a last-minute attempt to pass a few more infamous Obama edicts.
He’s already doing it, too. In just the last week, the outgoing president blocked future oil and gas leases in the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, set a record by granting a massive number of pardons and commutations in a single day, and axed a dormant registry for male Muslim immigrants. Genius moves, all. ‘heavy sarcasm’
Then there was that whole Israel mess, which is more evidence of Obama’s treachery. Really, it never seems to end.
As a result, Republicans are a little worried about Obama’s final month in office. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich did try to encourage his party and fellow Americans by telling Fox News:
“The things he’s done this week will be turned around. He’s in this desperate frenzy.”
Of course, on the flip side, Democrats are urging Obama to pursue more actions, mostly in this last-ditch hopefully-futile attempt to leave a “legacy” and hinder Trump. Obama has already solidified his legacy in a dozen different ways…and they’re all scandalous.
Throughout the course of Obama’s term, the president simply tried to do what he wanted. If something didn’t pass, he forced it through. The president who set the record for the most number of executive actions in U.S. history just keeps going in his final days, too.
We’ve gotta get this guy out of here. January 20 can’t come fast enough.
