Wow! A girl can’t even retire from Congress without the Liberal press hunting her down and skewering her over her religious beliefs!
The Huffington Post does not do Conservative…they don’t even know how to pronounce the word verbally without choking on it like Steve Martin speaking French. But what they are experts at doing is seeking out the latest religious remarks of a former Congresswoman with the express goal of belittling her and her dearly-held doctrine.
Michelle Bachman, former Representative out of Minnesota, was speaking to the Family Research Council on the radio program entitled “Washington Watch” when she uttered the words that the Huffington Post found dreadful:
“In a country that doesn’t believe in the gay agenda but the Obama State Department has said, look, ‘You have to have a gay pride parade. You have to make sure that you can show us that ministers are marching in these gay pride parades.’ What? The U.S. government is telling another government that you have to have gay pride parades? That’s unbelievable. You won’t get your PEPFAR money, you won’t get your USAID money, unless you follow our radical social agenda?”
The Post was most offended by this and tried to play it off as some sort of crazed lunatic’s manifesto. They made it sound as if the concept of the Obama Administration pushing a “gay” agenda was unheard of and ridiculous. Let’s examine that, shall we? This is directly from the National Park Service website:
“President Obama designated a new national monument at the historic site of the Stonewall Uprising in New York City to honor the broad LGBT equality movement. The new Stonewall National Monument will protect the area where, on June 28, 1969, a community’s uprising in response to a police raid sparked the modern LGBT civil rights movement in the United States.”
How about this?
On May 30, 2014, Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell announced a new theme study to identify places and events associated with the story of LGBTQ Americans for inclusion in the parks and programs of the National Park Service. Secretary Jewell made the announcement outside the Stonewall Inn in New York City. The theme study is part of the broader heritage initiative with the following goals:
•engaging scholars, preservationists and community members to identify, research, and tell the stories of LGBTQ associated properties;
•encouraging national parks, national heritage areas, and other affiliated areas to interpret LGBTQ stories associated with them;
•identifying, documenting, and nominating LGBTQ-associated sites as national historic landmarks;
•increasing the number of listings of LGBTQ-associated properties in the National Register of Historic Places.
Definitely no “gay” agenda there, Huffington Post. Great job on the revisionist history the Obama years, by the way. Michelle…you go, girl!
