Mr. Obama said he would have an incredibly transparent and open administration.
Yeah, not so much.
If it had been “transparent and open,” Judicial Watch would not have to be suing the government repeatedly for documents a cooperative administration would’ve provided freely.
Of course, President Obama and his team engaged in many activities they wanted kept under the radar. Take, for example, the underhanded method of promoting liberal stories on social media, while squelching conservative content.
But the hiding hardly ended there.
Then there was incessant promotion of the global warming agenda. He attacked the coal industry and promoted companies like Solyndra with tax dollars, funds that turned out to be totally wasted.
This is all based on the idea that “climate change” or “global warming” is science that has been proven, and from the position of those on the left, demand aggressive government action.
Never mind the fact that government funding of research has a tendency to produce the result that the government wants in the first place.
Now, via The Political Insider:
“Judicial Watch filed a Feb. 6, 2017, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking communications between National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scientist Thomas Karl and White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director John Holdren over the course of Barack Obama’s presidency.”
What is the purpose of this lawsuit?
STORY CONTINUES BELOW…
“‘This new lawsuit could result in the release of emails that will help Americans understand how Obama administration officials may have mishandled scientific data to advance the political agenda of global warming alarmism,’ Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement.”
Oooh, this is big.
This is what you get when a leftist government funds research to allegedly prove as a scientific fact what is really just part of their political agenda.
The integrity of both the scientific community and the government agencies themselves are diminished. Citizens, most of whom have no training in these highly technical matters, are left without an objective basis for drawing any conclusion on whether the problem even exists, let alone how serious it might be.
Mr. Obama’s administration was no exercise in transparency, but rather one of misdirection and obfuscation.
That it continues to plague the American people even after it was over is a measure of its perfidy.
