When someone wishes to explain that something is extreme, they often use a short phrase to describe it.
The words, “The height of” are used in connection with a particular behavior or attitude to explain a radical point of view.
For example, one might say that Hillary Clinton’s Benghazi statement about “What difference at this point does it make?” would be the height of arrogance.
Or Nancy Pelosi stating that Donald Trump has done nothing since his election to improve job creation would be the height of stupidity.
Better yet, Maxine Waters stating that Putin invaded Korea was the height of lunacy…or perhaps stupidity again.
The latter three characters have become more like caricatures in recent months, because they’ve been saying the most insanely unbelievable things; Waters basically just said Trump’s crimes will get him impeached…while admitting he hasn’t committed any crimes.
Well, I have one more gem. This would be termed the height of narcissism.
“Illinois lawmakers failed this week to rally enough votes to pass a measure in the state legislature that would have made former President Barack Obama’s birthday a statewide holiday.
The bill would have observed Aug. 4, Obama’s birthday, as a legal holiday in the Land of Lincoln.
However, according to the Chicago Tribune, the legislation received 54 votes – six votes shy of what it needed to send the bill to the Illinois Senate, where Obama once served as a senator.
The bill would cost taxpayers nearly $20 million, according to Illinois Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner’s budget office.
The legislation would cost roughly $3.2 million in personnel expenses to state employees for holiday pay and the state would lose around $16 million in productivity from state workers benefitting from a paid non-working holiday.”
First of all, the word holiday has its origins in the words “holy day” and was used exclusively for those days that were religious celebrations or observances in nature.
For his part, Barack Hussein Obama was the FARTHEST thing from being “holy”; if anything, he disdained Christianity as if it was a stain on the religious world. We won’t even talk about his attitude toward Israel and the Jews.
Secondly, let’s talk about a man whose entire Legacy revolves around how much debt he, alone, accumulated through a mere eight years: more than all the previous presidents COMBINED!
That Legacy was so pervasive, that even a mere whisper of a holiday celebrating Barack Obama Day was enough to cost the taxpayer more green and more grief.
Of course, the government workers in the state wouldn’t complain.
