Mixing politics and religion is always risky.
Emotions start to run high, and otherwise friendly relations enter into a pitched battle over religious doctrine and how it should impact the state, or the other way around.
It’s definitely a minefield, which is why we have the endless “religious war” problem.
Most recently this problem has manifested itself in the conflicts between Islam and western legal and cultural traditions.
This is because Islam contains within it a very specific legal code to accompany its religious beliefs. When we hear Muslims explain that they cannot assimilate into western cultures such as the one in America, they actually are correct.
Place Islamic Sharia Law beside our Constitution including the Bill of Rights as well as our Declaration of Independence, and it’s clear this is not going to work.
Of course, that doesn’t excuse THIS sort of disgusting behavior but even so, we understand why things just aren’t working.
But setting all this aside for a minute, could elements of the US government have directly interfered with the Roman Catholic Church at the highest levels of Vatican leadership?
A retired archbishop of the church believes so.
Via Conservative Tribune:
“A retired Italian archbishop close to Pope Benedict XVI claimed during an interview this week that the former pope resigned in 2013 due to ‘tremendous pressure’ from former U.S. President Barack Obama.“
Former Pope Benedict XVI is a strong conservative theologically, and Mr. Obama is very liberal in all of his beliefs. Hence the two would agree on very little.
Yet would the president go so far as to topple the pope? Benedict’s resignation as pope was the first such abdication in 600 years, so we are discussing a very rare and unusual event.
Naturally, there are questions.
“‘It is no coincidence that in America, even on the basis of what has been published by Wikileaks, some Catholic groups have asked President Trump to open a commission of inquiry to investigate whether the administration of Barack Obama exerted pressure on Benedict,’ Archbishop Emeritus Luigi Negri said in an interview with Rimini 2.0, as translated by LifeSiteNews.”
Here’s the part of the letter that contains the accusation of interference by Obama:
“‘Specifically, we have reason to believe that a Vatican ‘regime change’ was engineered by the Obama administration.'”
Did Obama decide to conduct an unprecedented intervention into church affairs in order to gain as an ally a global religious leader with a Marxist, globalist perspective like his…?
Whatever Mr. Obama did or did not do, the result of Benedict’s resignation and replacement by Francis is obvious. As Breitbart reports:
“Either way, nothing about Pope Benedict XVI’s sudden retirement in 2013 seemed normal. Nor did it seem inconsequential that his successor wound up being a political ‘progressive’ whose whose agenda aligned perfectly with that of both former U.S. President Obama and Cardinal Godfried Danneels.”
Hey, we know Obama did some pretty shady things; some recently revealed scandals are enough to make one physically ill.
Will President Trump order the investigation as requested by this Roman Catholic group?
The result of such an investigation could be explosive. With so many investigations into the Obama regime either in progress or pending, tise one concerning the Vatican might need to take its place in line.
