President Obama may take the diplomatic approach when it comes to talking down terrorists from their bomb-throwing perches.
And Obama may also take the delusional approach to fighting terrorism, by refusing to use the words “Islamic” and “terrorist” in the same sentence, never mind as a direct reference.
But not all the world’s leaders are so resistant to the idea of standing tall in the face of a terror fight.
President Vladimir Putin, who just watched with horror as his country’s ambassador to Turkey was shot at point-blank range by a man screaming “allahu akbar,” told the watching world of terror: Get ready to pay.
His exact words, as Conservative Tribune noted:
“A crime has been committed and it was without doubt a provocation aimed at spoiling the normalization of Russo-Turkish relations and spoiling the Syrian peace process which is being actively pushed by Russia, Turkey, Iran and others. There can only be one response – stepping up the fight against terrorism. The bandits will feel this happening.”
Wow. If only Obama had sent even an inkling of that blunt message at any point during his near-eight years of office, the world’s terrorists may not have spread so remarkably far and wide.
“While praising slain Ambassador Andrei Karlov, Putin also revealed that he is sending investigators to Turkey to work hand-in-hand with Turkish officials, proclaiming, ‘We must know who directed the killer’s hand,’ according to Newsmax,” Conservative Tribune went on.
Right. Obama could take a lesson – sadly – from America’s overseas President Putin and it’s this:
There’s a time to talk and a time to act, and when terrorists take one of your own out, it’s the latter that’s required. President-elect Donald Trump, happily, won’t have to be taught this lesson.
This is something the U.S. needs to learn but perhaps our new president already knows it…
