Edward Snowden, a hero to some, a traitor to others, has been languishing away these past months in the protection of Russia.
He’s had to languish there because Barack Obama’s administration wanted to prosecute him for divulging some of America’s most embarrassing secrets to world powers – things that included revelations like how the Obama White House was conducting surveillance on unsuspecting Americans and on some of our overseas allies.
Oops. Big oops.
Now, forget all the Trump/Putin conspiracy nonsense, which our new president has tried to kill numerous times.
This is about something much bigger; it’s about bringing a traitor to justice in the country he betrayed. And it will be Trump’s occupation of the Oval Office that makes it happen, according to a new report.
“U.S. intelligence has collected information that Russia is considering turning over Edward Snowden as a ‘gift’ to President Donald Trump — who has called the NSA leaker a ‘spy’ and a ‘traitor’ who deserves to be executed,” NBC News reported.
Wow, that could be quite a “gift” to this administration.
And by the way, though we’ve already proven the idiocy of the Trump/Russia connection put forth by Democrats, consider this: If the relationship was so grand, why would Russia need to “curry favor” with Trump?
Gee, I thought they were already buddy-buddy… But apparently not; this seems like a judicious move on the part of the Russians, doesn’t it?
What’s really interesting is that if it happens, if Snowden is in fact turned over by Russia to America, what a MASSIVE face-slap that would be for Obama.
Really. Obama and his executive level assistants spent a massive amount of public relations time trying to first demand, then plead, then argue a case that would convince Vladimir Putin to give up the Snowden ghost and send him home to America for prosecution.
But the Kremlin’s response? Sorry, Obama.
And now, Barack, your legacy has already sustained a series of crushing blows, and this would be yet another if Trump gets this “gift.”
Your “legacy?” Think powderpuff.
