261 Sanctuary Cities Lose 1 Major Battle, And Taxpayers Instantly Save Millions

Trump’s campaign promises on immigration seemed too good to be true.

After decades of pussyfooting on the issue of immigration, allowing for tens of millions of illegals to invade our country, permanently tilting the scales of our future in the Left’s favor, someone finally had the courage to speak frankly about the issue.

Not only that, but he offered solutions that have long been popular amongst the general public, despite the media’s claim to the contrary.

Yes, Trump’s promises on the issue were lofty, and while he has a long way to go to make good on them, it seems he’s starting to get serious. Very serious.

After years of defiance, it appears that sanctuary cities, blights on our nation, are finally going to get what’s been coming to them.

As reported at the Federalist Papers Project, the Department of Justice has announced the following:

“Sanctuary jurisdictions will lose access to certain federal law enforcement grants in 2017 if they prohibit officials from communicating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, if they block ICE from interviewing jail inmates, or if they fail to notify ICE of the pending release of criminal aliens ICE is seeking to deport.”

These particular grants, known as the Byrne Justice Assistance Grants, are the largest source of federal criminal justice funds for state, local, and tribal authorities.

Pulling the funding from these cities is one of the more satisfying and needed actions. Over 300 jurisdictions will be targeted with the law change, which will go into effect later this year.

A lot of tax dollars will be saved should these leftist cities decide to stick to their guns and 7 of the top 10 are all sanctuary cities.

Under the new rules announced by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the four top grant-getters (New York City; Cook County, Illinois; Los Angeles; and Philadelphia) are likely to be disqualified from these grants in the future if they maintain their current policies toward ICE.

These cities received more than $10 million in grants in 2016.

It’s about damn time.

It’s sickening watching these clownish mayors and governors proudly declare their allegiance to illegals over their own native residents and country.

If they’re not going to enforce laws, then it’s perfectly sensible to cut their funding.

This has been a long time coming, but only now do we have the right people in place to make it happen.

Keeping all or most of Trump’s campaign promises would be great, but so long as the immigration issue is tackled as he said it would be, that’s enough for me to declare his presidency a success.

Yes, this is THAT important.
