What the hell is THIS?!
The Secret Service’s whole reason for being is to protect the president of the United States, and other threatened or at-risk high-ranking political officials and their close family members, right?
I mean, that’s why Washington wasn’t taking any chances heading into the Inauguration; we’re supposed to PROTECT the commander-in-chief at all costs.
But if your core team, the one you have to count on, the one that holds your life in their hands every damn day, has a weak link…man, that needs to be addressed. Immediately.
This message, from one Secret Service agent who posted on Facebook, is taking the internet by storm; at the bare minimum, it’s a bit unorthodox for an official in such law enforcement capacity.
Read this, and prepare to be shocked:
“A senior U.S. Secret Service member suggested she would not take a bullet for President Trump in an October post on Facebook.”
Are you kidding? Yes, that is indeed the view of one Secret Service agent tasked with defending and protecting President Trump.
“In her post, O’Grady acknowledged that expressing her political beliefs on social media is a violation of the Hatch Act. The act prohibits executive branch members, excluding the president, vice president and other designated officials, from making partisan statements,” The Hill reported, citing The Washington Examiner.
Well, what a comfort that woman’s honesty is. So not only is she breaking the law, something one would think a Secret Service agent would hesitate to do, but she’s also doing in bluntly and boldly – all the while confessing she isn’t interested in doing her job.
“As a public servant for nearly 23 years, I struggle to not violate the Hatch Act. So I keep quiet and skirt the median. To do otherwise can be a criminal offense for those in my position. Despite the fact that I am expected to take a bullet for both sides. But this world has changed and I have changed. And I would take jail time over a bullet or an endorsement for what I believe to be disaster to this country and the strong and amazing women and minorities who reside here. Hatch Act be damned. I am with Her.”
Here’s a quick solution to save Trump and this woman’s high-minded political principles: FIRE HER.
Any Secret Service agent who can’t perform his or her duties, which obviously include taking a bullet for the most powerful leader in the world, should not be employed in that position. And by the way, Trump’s life has been threatened once before and that probably won’t be the last time.
As for O’Grady, perhaps she could find a position in the Democratic National Committee, or in the offices of a ranking Democrat in office, like Sen. Chuck Schumer or Rep. Nancy Pelosi.
Needless to say, this woman needs to be kept as far away from Trump as possible – and really, as far away from the Secret Service as possible.
