Teacher Gives 10-Year-Old Some Candy, Gets A Kiss In Return…But Is This Really ‘Criminal’?

Unfortunately, stories and videos showing inappropriate relationships between teachers and their students aren’t uncommon.

There is the one now-very famous case of the female teacher, Mary Kay Letourneau, who had a relationship with her 12-year-old student back in 1997 and subsequently became pregnant and had his baby.

There was also the case of the Jessica Storer, a 29-year-old teacher and mother of two, whose husband, Derrick, supplied alcohol to one of her 18-year-old students before she had sex with him.

These are extreme cases, of course, but there are hundreds of them. This is an epidemic and the stories run rampant throughout the nation.

It’s bad enough that our kids have to be in a heavily Leftist-biased environment from kindergarten, but now they have to deal with very questionable situations.

A case has come up in Boca Raton, Florida, where this male teacher was caught on video doing something that surprised police.

Independent Journal Review:

“This past February, a disturbing incident took place at Somerset Academy in Boca Raton, Florida, involving now-29-year-old teacher Brian Kornbluth and a 10-year-old student of his.

And despite his crimes, he is going to get off with no jail time.

According to the New York Daily News, a security camera in Kornbluth’s classroom was repositioned to face his desk after fellow faculty members said he started making ‘unusual requests’ for specific students to be placed in his class.

In a video released by the Boca Raton Police Department on Tuesday, Kornbluth and the male student were shown talking alone in his classroom, where he then exchanged a gummy bear for a kiss with the minor.”

The lawyer for the teacher, who pled guilty to simple battery, knew this student’s family and babysat in the past for both he and his sister.

He has since been let go from his job at the school, but will be able to apply for teaching positions elsewhere while on probation.

What I find so disturbing about this is that I am a dad of five. I have watched this video over and over and really struggle with the supposed scandalous nature of the video.

It does actually appear to be an innocent quick peck for what you would normally give a kid, especially a friend of the family.

Police interviewed the family. The mother had no inkling that there was an issue. The experts in child abuse reported there was no indication from the children of anything inappropriate, either at the school or in the home.

I believe there is a thin line between inappropriate behavior and ruining a man’s life over a completely innocent gesture.

While there may be room for the teacher to make adjustments on his habits in class (which apparently only occurred this once) I believe that the attorney defending him in this case was correct.

What do you think?
