Oh look, a now-near-irrelevant filmmaker who continues to insert himself on the political stage to make his views as widely known as possible, has a new campaign and it has nothing to do with Hollywood.
Yes, once again, this self-proclaimed mouthpiece for the people is donning his political hat.
And this time, he’s taking his leftist schtick to the White House. You won’t be surprised to learn the name, either: Michael Moore.
“Moore recently took to Twitter to pledge his allegiance to the upcoming Disrupt the Inauguration protest,” Independent Journal Review reported.
How nice. Moore’s going to join in one of the left’s dying breath attempts at stopping Donald Trump from mounting the White House stairs and taking office – knowing, no doubt, how futile the effort truly is.
His tweet, courtesy IJR:
“Disrupt the inauguration. The Majority have spoken – by nearly 2.7 million votes & counting! Silence is not an option.”
The campaign comes from the group Disruptj20. And Disruptj20’s mantra?
“[T]o confront white supremacy, patriarchy, LGBTQ hate, ableism” and the like, the nonprofit said on its website. “We call on all people of good conscience to join in disrupting the ceremonies. If Trump is to be inaugurated at all, let it happen behind closed doors.”
Unbelieveable. Can we finally move past the delusional protests, please, and recognize that Trump was indeed duly elected and as such, is due to be the next president? Thus, his title: president-elect.
But Moore, in an email to the Hollywood Reporter, fueled the flames of senseless dissent.
He wrote, IJR reported: “If by some awful happenstance Trump shows up to be sworn in on January 20th, I will be there helping lead the national protest and non-violently disrupting the inauguration of a man no one other than the electoral college elected.”
It’s true, Clinton did win the popular vote. But what’s also true is that Trump won 49 percent of the popular vote. And he won the necessary number of electoral ballots to win the White House.
To Moore, however, and others of his illogical way of thinking, the election is far from ended.
“This impending disaster,” Moore wrote in his email, of the inauguration, IJR reported, “requires everyone to get involved now – all hands on deck! This is not a drill!”
