When I first wrote about sanctuary cities some months ago for Red, White & Right, I was surprised to find that there were actually over 300 such cities in 32 States here in the U.S.
Other alarming stats were equally surprising and more than a little disgusting.
I guess I was surprised because, well…the mainstream media had never before reported these statistics on network television or in the major newspapers, and for obvious reasons.
I also noted that some of the most widely read stories at RWR were those surrounding news of sanctuary cities. Why?
Oh, probably because people are rightly upset with these Progressive “havens” that are flagrantly flipping off the federal government and the American people in an effort to advance their alt-Left agenda of hate, racism, and bigotry.
President Trump has already threatened to slash funding across the board for these rogue cities, which would amount to BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars saved…and many innocent lives saved as well.
Now, to drive the point home, Trump has just published a very interesting document.
“In an attempt to increase pressure on sanctuary cities, the Department of Homeland Security has published its first weekly list of all 118 localities refusing to cooperate with the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.
Each week, the list will publish every detention request rejected by local jails — detailing the relevant agency, the status of the immigrant, and the charges they are facing.
The first report was published this Monday, listing 206 cases in which illegal aliens were arrested and consequently released from jail without charge, despite recommendations from the Immigration and Crime Enforcement agency (ICE) to detain them for at least 48 hours.
The cases listed took place between January 28th to February 3rd, Donald Trump’s second week in office.
In his executive order signed January 25th designed to properly enforce immigration policy, Trump said regular lists were necessary to better inform the public ‘regarding the public safety threats associated with sanctuary jurisdictions.’
‘When it comes to public safety, there is no place for politics; no Republicans, no Democrats, just citizens, and good citizens,’ Trump said. We want safe communities. We demand safe communities for everyone.‘”
Stats prove the majority of the public want sanctuary cities gone, but it’s not enough to have a plurality of the public against a particular agenda being shoved down the throats of its constituents.
This, despite the seemingly countless horror stories associated with the colossal failure that is sanctuary cities.
That’s because Democrats view the people in opposition to this as “slack-jawed, fake-news-readers, who are too stupid to understand the subtleties of identity politics and the importance of controlling the public’s perception of what is right and virtuous.”
Who’s wearing the jackboots now, mein herr?
