Donald Trump has been naming various qualified individuals to his Cabinet in recent weeks, but there’s one essential position that had yet to be decided…until today.
As you might expect, the Counselor to the President is an extremely challenging and prestigious job, so you want someone who can handle the seat. In this particular case, most conservatives and Republicans would agree that Trump made the right choice.
Everyone already knows this woman, as she acted as Trump’s primary campaign officer during his presidential run and probably because of that success, she has now been named Counselor to the President.
Yes, according to a breaking news report from Fox News, it’s Kellyanne Conway, and as the new President-elect said in a statement released this morning:
“Kellyanne Conway has been a trusted advisor and strategist who played a crucial role in my victory. She is a tireless and tenacious advocate of my agenda and has amazing insights on how to effectively communicate our message. I am pleased that she will be part of my senior team in the West Wing.”
Conway will work with senior administration officials to help communicate and execute the president’s legislative priorities, and for her part, Conway said in an interview that she did consider her family before accepting the position, but described the West Wing as a “family-friendly” environment.
“It’s difficult to pass that up. I know I’ve got his ear and his trust… A Trump presidency will bring real change to Washington and to Americans across this great nation. I am humbled and honored to play a role in helping transform the movement he has led into a real agenda of action and results.”
Conway has proven herself eminently qualified for such a job and hey, the Donald/Kellyanne duo worked extremely well in 2016, didn’t it? We look forward to a bright future with these two still working together!
