Remember when the courts suspended enforcement of President Donald Trump’s controversial immigration order?
You know, the one the moron leftists called a “Muslim ban,” despite having zero evidence to support such an asinine notion?
Well, nobody really expected that suspension to derail Trump, did they? I mean, this guy has been delivering on his campaign promises since Day 1 and he’s not about to let a pesky little court block his way.
What the courts created was simply a bump in the road, a temporary obstacle for the president to overcome.
This is not to say that his opponents cannot make trouble for the president. They certainly can, and should be expected to do so. This includes trying to get Trump declared legally insane (believe it or not).
But our new commander-in-chief will not be deterred.
Yes, President Trump’s travel ban is back. It’s similar to the previous order but it has one BIG difference: It has been altered to make it more difficult for any court hostile to what he is doing to block it again.
“President Donald Trump has signed a new executive order blocking the arrival of most travelers from six conflict-prone countries for 90 days, and freezing the inflow of refugees from any country for the next 120 days.”
This is a bit different from the original executive order.
“The new order shifts the task of stopping the refugees from officers at U.S. airports over to officials at U.S. embassies overseas, who have been told to stop preparing needed travel documents until Trump’s aides complete a national security review, according to documents released today by the White House.”
The effect is very similar to the original order, yet this one is designed in such a way as pass muster during any court review.
In other words, it will be much more difficult for a court to block this version. Here’s the strategy:
“The shift to overseas embassies may prevent judges from trying to block the new order, just as three California judges on Feb. 3 blocked part of Trump’s Jan. 27 executive order on refugees. Under the Constitution, judges have even less authority to block administrative actions in overseas embassies than judges now claim to have over officers working for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.”
The end result is that President Trump’s travel ban is back, or at least it will be when the new executive order goes into effect on March 16.
And this is HUGE.
Yes, it’s exactly what America needs and no, it is not – and never has been – an attack on race, religion, or ethnicity.
It is an attack on terrorism and on forces that would make Americans more vulnerable to violence. Perhaps those on the left need to review the duties of the president, and re-learn the fact that it is his job to protect the nation and its citizens.
This is precisely what our president is doing, and he keeps making strong moves to protect this country…and as such, should be the recipient of our gratitude.
