Barack Obama must’ve set some sort of record.
This guy wasted millions, even BILLIONS, of taxpayer dollars on the most insane things.
He also spent a boatload of cash on his family vacations, which only adds to the total. Obama drained so much from the country, one wonders if he really DID think money grew on trees.
Well, don’t all liberals believe that?
At any rate, taxpayers are getting hit especially hard this year due to soaring healthcare premiums and a variety of other issues, and we’re still paying for our former president’s mistakes.
For example, did you know the U.S. was paying the salaries of non-existent “ghost” soldiers?
That’s right, according to the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction, John Sopko, these “ghost” soldiers are a much bigger problem than anyone wanted to admit.
“We’ve been raising this concern about ghosts going back a number of years.
“What we’re talking about are policemen, Afghan policemen, Afghan military, Afghan civil servants who don’t exist or they have multiple identity cards and we’re paying their salaries.
By ‘we’ I mean the United States and the international community. And we started finding out that we had no capacity to measure the number of soldiers, teachers, doctors, military people who we are paying their salaries.”
Last year, Fox News reported that this amounted to more than $300 million on an annual basis. And when asked if this constituted fraud, Sopko simply replied:
“Major fraud. And what’s happening is the commanders or generals or other higher officials are actually pocketing the salaries of the ghosts.”
Furthermore, it turns out we’re actually funding schools based on the number of students, so by inventing or inflating that number, America will shell out more cash. It’s a nasty vicious circle of waste.
Sopko says he told the Pentagon about this multiple times but nothing was done by the Obama administration.
Oh, big surprise.
This is why Trump is going after all the entrenched Obama cronies; these people did nothing. No, they did less than nothing; they were, in fact, entirely counterproductive.
And we lost countless millions as a result.
