It was only a couple of weeks ago that a very joyous occasion took place at the White House.
For the first time in perhaps eight years, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House without having to pay for valet parking or wait out in the lobby until the president was good and ready to receive him.
See, President Donald Trump is a confirmed friend of Israel, which Netanyahu obviously appreciates.
Which is precisely why this was joyous on a second level as well: Israel was NOT being viewed through the lens of a US enemy.
Israel has since made it plain that they have ZERO love for the departed Barack Obama and now, they’re looking to solidify the burgeoning relationship with the Trump administration.
In a further effort to reassure Israel and its people that the United States stands ready and able to defend its allies, including Israel, Vice President Mike Pence went to the trouble of reiterating a Trump promise.
“Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Pence called Tehran ‘the leading state sponsor of terrorism’ and said it continued to destabilize the Middle East. ‘Thanks to the end of nuclear-related sanctions under the [nuclear deal] Iran now has additional resources to devote to these efforts,’ he said.
‘Let me be clear again: Under President Trump the United States will remain fully committed to ensuring that Iran never obtains a nuclear weapon capable of threatening our countries, our allies in the region, especially Israel.‘
This is a far cry from the previous administration that appeared to bow to every modern-day dictator the world could offer.
Trump, through Pence, has rendered a very valuable consolation to Israel in payment for the horrible treatment by our former leader and for the the misguided and foolish Iran Nuclear Deal (paid for, by the way, with the blood of American soldiers).
Further, we’re done with a leader who sends BILLIONS of American money overseas to finance God only knows what.
This will certainly go a long way with our faithful and loyal allies who have been dancing on a razor’s edge, unsure of whether or not an Obama administration would be there if they ever needed us.
With Trump at the helm, this ship will certainly prove unsinkable.
