President Donald Trump has made it clear from day one:
His controversial executive order on immigration is about protecting U.S. citizens from terrorists.
And the clue he was telling the truth was when his order referred to simply seven terror hot spot countries, and ordered travelers from these areas to steer clear of America for 90 days.
Simple and logical.
Had Trump wanted to target Muslims, like his political opponents accused, he would’ve included places like India in the travel ban. And when other countries start to warn us about severe Muslim influence, maybe we should listen.
Now, here comes top-ranking officials echoing Trump’s been saying all along – that these nations are terror breeding grounds, and the president’s order is good protection for America.
From Homeland Security Secretary Gen. Jack Kelly, CNS News reported:
“There are thousands of fighters who are available and have, we have pretty good confidence, have the kind of papers that could get them passed into Western Europe and certainly, by extension, into the United States. So the threat is real.“
Hear that, 9th Circuit?
Well, hear this, too:
“‘I believe that the travel pause from all of those countries will give us time to evaluate those countries and the information they can provide us, which will ultimately lead to safety for the American people.’
Later in the hearing, Kelly said ‘no,’ the travel pause is not a Muslim ban. He said the seven countries were chosen because they are ‘failed states.’”
The same memo could just as easily be sent to the left-of-lefties in the streets who are crying something nearly incoherent about Trump’s ban on Muslims.
Or, it could be sent to Democrats in Congress who are mumbling similarly, saying Trump wants to keep out all followers of Islam, that he is acting unconstitutionally by trying to keep control of the borders.
Hell, they already think Trump should be impeached for no reason whatsoever.
But really, the memo ought to be sent up the court chain to the U.S. Supreme Court, because that’s very likely where the next challenge to Trump’s executive order will be heard.
The bigger takeaway, though, is this:
What a shame that the left is so intent on taking down Trump that they can’t even take time out of partisan politicking to put the security of American citizens first. Like the children they are, Dems should be forced into a corner for a mandated two-minute time-out.
