President Donald Trump has been making some VERY strong moves lately.
Just recently, he yanked United Nations funding that put liberals into a total rage, and managed to save American taxpayers many more millions.
Now he’s zeroing in on our bloated government and all the officials we absolutely don’t need. Some of these guys have been drawing huge paychecks for far too long, wouldn’t you agree?
“Draining the swamp” isn’t just about saving the country a huge mountain of cash; it’s about trimming the fat and ditching those who quite frankly serve no purpose. Or worse, those who are counterproductive.
Conservatives have already demanded that Trump fire IRS boss John Koskinen, which is probably next on the president’s agenda.
In the meantime, we can all wave bye-bye to Trump’s controversial chief strategist, Stephen Bannon, who was removed from the National Security Council today.
Via Fox News:
“Bannon was put on the NSC’s ‘Principals Committee’ as a check on former National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn to make sure Flynn carried through with a directive to depoliticize the NSC, a senior administration official told Fox News.
Bannon only attended one meeting of the Principals Committee and Flynn was fired from his role in mid February after misleading Vice President Mike Pence about conversations he had with a Russian official.
With McMaster replacing Flynn, Trump saw no need for Bannon to stay on the committee as a check on Flynn, the official said.”
Not long after the news broke, Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md released a statement calling Bannon “wholly unqualified” to have been placed on the NSC in the first place. And he’s hardly the only one who feels this way.
It’s definitely a big government shakeup, as Trump promoted the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford, and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats to “regular attendees.”
Lastly, Homeland Security Adviser Tom Bossert had his role reduced, though he can still call a meeting of the Homeland Security Council and remains on the Principals Committee.
Hey, we all know the Obama administration worked to take down former security adviser Michael Flynn. So why bother leaving the rest of his dead weight in office? Trump’s doing the right thing here, no doubt about it.
