Under former President Obama, it seems many things only got better…well, if you were on government assistance.
Food stamp applications were up. Welfare was up. Medicaid was up, and unemployment was up.
The only things that went down were income and full- and part-time jobs. That, and the entire economy.
Defrauding the government became a very lucrative industry for many Americans who cheated the system and did so with a very large helping hand from the Democrat Party.
With job prospects finally looking up these days – thank you, President Trump – some states have taken a chance at reducing the rolls of SNAP recipients and guess what’s happening?
Exactly what you expected would happen, fellow Conservative.
“Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Hand him an EBT card with an endless food stamp program, and he’ll never work again.
That may not be the most memorable proverb, but it explains what many conservatives have suspected for decades.
Now, the state of Alabama has confirmed it: People become dependent on government handouts when there’s no incentive to keep a job.
According to Alabama Media Group, 13 counties in the southern state recently reinstated work requirements for their government food programs, and the results were staggering:
Food stamp usage dropped by 85 percent.
Before this year, those counties waived the work requirements as a response to high unemployment.
Now that the economy is improving, the requirements were put back in place — and the number of adults receiving taxpayer-funded food stamps fell from 5,538 to only 831.
‘Based on the trend, the number of (able-bodied adults without dependents) recipients for SNAP benefits is expected to continue to decline statewide and in the formerly 13 exempted counties,’ stated John Hardy, a representative from the Alabama Department of Human Resources.”

The study also made clear that only able-bodied individuals were targeted with this move.
Disabled men and women who were not able to work due to physical reasons with doctor’s statements were not being required to work, for obvious reasons.
An 85% drop in the rolls is a huge number that can only serve to help the state recover some of its lost revenue due to fraud and wasteful spending.
Nobody should wonder why President Trump plans to cut entitlement programs by a whopping $1.7 TRILLION. We’ve been allowing leeches to bankrupt this country for far too long.
As for Alabama, it’s a big win-win for the state and a message to liberals. It’s doubtful they’ll listen but at least the message is clear.
