Donald Trump, once again, has a golden opportunity to save the American taxpayer billions of dollars.
That opportunity is being served up to him on a silver platter by Indiana Congressman, Luke Messer, whose idea is not a new one, but is definitely a worthwhile one.
President Trump is already preparing a “phenomenal tax cut plan,” which should definitely save the American taxpayer plenty of cash.
He also found the cost of a new Air Force One obscenely high, and sent Boeing back to the drawing board, which in turn helped us save even more money. Yes indeed, he’s just a money-saving MACHINE.
Of course, the government continues to waste a boatload of money…
But those billions of dollars that are currently being wasted by the U.S. Government could be quickly recouped through an executive order by Trump that would end the process tomorrow.
It comes down to a code called ITIN (Individual Tax Identification Number).
This code literally allows illegal aliens to file a tax return without a Social Security Number and qualify for the Child Tax Credit (in essence, a person breaking the law in this country can collect a tax credit for their children!)
‘It’s just a farce to say it was created to collect taxes,’ Robert Rector, senior research fellow at the Heritage Foundation, told Fox News. ‘It’s nothing but a welfare program designed for illegal immigrants. ITINS are for tourists or illegals. No ITIN filer is eligible to work in the United States.’
The problem with ITIN, critics say, is gives non-citizens access to federal cash that they should not be entitled to receive. Once illegal immigrants file ITIN tax returns, they can apply for a Child Tax Credit – which entitles them to $1,000 per child.
Unlike the Earned Income Tax Credit, which requires a Social Security Number to qualify, the Child Tax Credit is a cash program that does not.
Numerous investigations by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration have chronicled not only improper Child Tax Credit fraud and error payments ranging from $5.9 billion to $7.1 billion, but schemes such as nearly 24,000 ITIN payments going to the same address.
The audit reports also found IRS management was “not concerned with addressing questionable applications” but “interested only in the volume of applications that can be processed, regardless of whether they are fraudulent.”
Another audit report examining ITIN usage found Child Tax Credit claims more than quadrupled in five years, from $924 million in 2005 to $4.2 billion in 2010.”
Shades of the Obama welfare scandal that cost us a ridiculous $2.6 billion…
If Trump is smart (and we already know he is) he will tap his Vice President on the shoulder and ask, “Hey, Mike, are there any issues you can think of that I should be addressing out there in your own home State?”
Mike should then answer, “Well, actually Mr. President, there is this Representative from my home State who knows about this loophole…”
