Perhaps you hadn’t heard but Puerto Rico is no longer happy with just being a U.S. territory.
No, now that territory, which is drowning in $73 billion worth of debt, wants to become an actual U.S. state.
One could argue that America is in no position to take on more debt, and taxpayers are already sick and tired of paying for everything from illegal students to illegal criminals.
Can we really afford this? Should we really try to fix Puerto Rico when we already have PLENTY to fix?
