It’s difficult to believe that the racial unrest that rocked our cities in the 1960s remains a problem today.
That this problem has not be solved in 50 years is just beyond discouraging, no matter who you are.
Unfortunately, that is just the kind of thinking the left wants us to accept: that minorities and women have made no social or economic progress.
They want us to believe there are hoards of angry white men in society with a secret desire to return to the days of racial segregation, if not outright slavery.
As long as the left can maintain this narrative, it retains a significant power-base regardless of the truth or lack thereof of any of these assertions.
CNN continues this spirit of agitation by taking a tragedy in Charlottesville, and using the actions of some bigots and miscreants to make the inference that Trump voters are some form of white supremacists.
That’s an extraordinary jump to make. Given that CNN just called millions of Americans racists, such reckless journalism demands a reply, correct?
We would also be offended … except that this is CNN, an organization that has a highly corrupted approach to journalism.
Via Daily Caller:
“CNN used the voices of a few professors and activists to assert anyone who voted for President Donald Trump is a white supremacist in a news report Wednesday, and to blame these ‘ordinary’ people for the violence in Charlottesville.
“Trump voters helped advance white supremacy by giving them room to operate, CNN reported based on the assertions of others in a piece headlined:
‘White Supremacists by default: How ordinary people made Charlottesville possible.’
‘It’s easy to focus on the angry white men in paramilitary gear who looked like they were mobilizing for a race war in the Virginia college town,’ CNN reported.
‘But it’s the ordinary people — the voters who elected a reality TV star with a record of making racially insensitive comments, the people who move out of the neighborhood when people of color move in, the family members who ignore a relative’s anti-Semitism — who give these type of men room to operate.'”
STORY CONTINUES BELOW…
CNN borrows the thoughts of a college professor or two who, without any apparent peer-reviewed research, have concocted a theory of white supremacist attitudes being held by millions of Americans, including all Trump voters.
Not very impressive scholarship there. Nor very impressive journalism. It’s pretty easy for a staffer at CNN to pick up the phone and find a professor with the views they desire, grab some quotes, and create a story.
“‘If you want to know why those white racists now feel so emboldened, it may help to look at all the ordinary people around you, your neighbors, your family members, your leaders.
But first, start by looking at yourself,’ CNN concluded.“
How very condescending. This is the arrogant wing of the liberal establishment on full display.
Convinced of their moral superiority, they issue noble-sounding admonishments such as “looking at yourself” as the solution to the problem under discussion.
The implication is that those at CNN needn’t self-examine. Well, maybe they don’t.
Maybe should simply return to the universities at which they purport to have studied journalism and demand a refund. Because obviously, the “education” didn’t take.
“CNN did not respond to a request for comment.”
What more needs to be said?
