Not only is this is a major company, it’s an innovative, important company that could have an inestimable impact on energy conservation.
Donald Trump met with several Silicon Valley bigwigs on Tuesday and representatives from some of the biggest and most influential companies in the world were on hand. The list includes the likes of Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Facebook and more, and those names won’t surprise anyone.
But as Elektrek noted, there was one CEO there who, despite heading two companies worth a combined $47 billion, was the small fry in the room. But as I just said, this “small fry” is doing some wildly ambitious things…things even democrats and liberals approve of.
It’s Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and his introduction at the meeting is definitely worth noting for all those interested in the future health of the U.S. economy:
“Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, building rockets, and cars, and solar stuff in the US – actually really excited about expanding our manufacturing footprint in the US.”
Tesla currently employs over 30,000 people, the majority of which (25,000) are here in the U.S. Furthermore, they want to add more than 3,000 manufacturing jobs in California, 1,000 jobs for their solar panel factory in New York, and as many as 9,000 new jobs at the Gigafactory in Nevada. That’s a pretty huge commitment!
The companies in question are all about the promise of tomorrow and have no interest in pollution or leaving a giant carbon footprint; quite the opposite, actually. To have Musk say they’re going to continue to focus on US work to drive their vision forward is just plain awesome.
And by the way, when the meeting was over, Trump had a message for everyone in the room:
“Anything we can do to help this go along, we’ll be there for you. You’ll call my people, you’ll call me. It doesn’t make any difference,” Trump continued. “We have no formal chain of command around here.”
Gee, so the “egomaniac” doesn’t seem to have a problem being a part of team, and trusting that team. We’re learning a lot about this guy, aren’t we?
And Musk, just keep keepin’ on!
