Democrats Threaten America – If Trump Builds The Wall, We Are Going To…

Politicians like Bill and Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Charles Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Mitch McConnell are yesterday’s leaders. Their time is over.

In some cases their time was over long ago.

And there are more politicians who could be added to that list. To dip a toe into a bit of bipartisanship for just a moment, none of them are real assets to their own parties.

In fact, in some cases they do their parties more harm than good. They should go into retirement and write books or go on the lecture tour or something.

Instead, they run the same tired stories over and over to the point of making nuisances of themselves. In doing so, they create their own problems.

And they seldom come up with anything particularly new or exciting. They are all just a bunch of old bores, even when they’re trying to be fiery and powerful.

So now we get the same ol’ tired threat in response to Trump’s proposed border wall; this threat comes from the Democrats, of course, which Schumer in the lead.

The effort is just political jockeying, demanding an end to the border wall unless certain programs, dear to Democrats, get funded accompanied by a threat Americans have heard time and time again.

You can probably guess what it is by now but if not, here’s the skinny.

Politico has the story:

The White House is pushing a deal on Capitol Hill to head off a government shutdown that would lift strict spending caps long opposed by Democrats in exchange for money for President Donald Trump’s border wall with Mexico, multiple sources said.

“Marc Short, the White House’s director of legislative affairs, met with top staffers from both parties on the Senate Appropriations Committee last week to make a hard sell for the proposal, the sources said.

“Short — who said the border funding would be used for a ‘double fence’ — stressed that the White House is insisting on a down payment for construction this fall.

Short also lobbied for a big budget increase for the Pentagon, another priority for Trump.”

With Republican majorities in both the House and Senate, this shouldn’t be much of a problem for President Trump.

Unfortunately, we have a number of “yesterday’s leaders” in the Republican Party still hanging on to power in an attempt to prove their significance.

Which is sad, because there is a whole new generation of exciting young conservatives who could replace them and actually accomplish something positive for the nation.

Led by Sen. Chuck Schumer, [a tedious bore] Democrats are hoping to block any wall construction, so protecting the northward flow of government-dependent workers to Democratic-run cities, and also breaking Trump’s 2016 primary campaign promise.

“But Democratic politicians are also being squeezed between their radical base and popular opinion, which favors Trump’s immigration reform plans.”

And there are about ten or so Democratic senators who will soon be up for reelection in states that either Trump won or where his border wall is favored.

Therefore, our boring Senate Minority Leader will drone on about blocking the wall or shutting down the government if he cannot get his way at the peril of these Democratic seats in the Senate.

Mr. Schumer might get cornered by some of the vulnerable Democratic senators and be told to ease off the border wall issue, lest he have an even smaller minority come 2019.

Then again, Schumer could just ask House member Waters to address these issues on his behalf. At least we would have some good entertainment, right?
