The tallies are in and the numbers for President Obama don’t look good.
So what else is new, right?
The commander-in-chief’s been trying to sell himself as one of the most popular presidents of all time – trying to make it appear that his legacy is one of the best in a long line of solid American presidents. But it’s just not going over well with one particular group of people.
There’s a very large segment of the population that isn’t buying the line, and they deserve far more respect than they’ve been getting over the past decade or so.
As Fox News noted, “a new survey shows that a majority of U.S. service members has an ‘unfavorable’ view of President Obama and his eight years in the White House.”
The Military Times released the survey, which was conducted by Syracuse University’s Institute for Veterans and Military Families, and in it, nearly 52 percent of service members said they see Obama through unfavorable eyes.
More than that, 29 percent described themselves as seeing Obama through “very unfavorable” eyes, Fox News reported.
So what are they saying about him?
As Fox News found:
“Among the concerns of critics was troop levels under Obama being cut to historically low levels and the president’s decision to withdraw combat troops from Iraq, essentially making America less safe. In addition, more than 60 percent of the respondents thought Obama’s use of drones and Special Forces teams for precision strikes — instead of large-scale military operations — has helped U.S. national security.”
Well, that’s all true. But let’s not hold back the FULL truth: Obama’s also a partisan politician who oversaw the likes of Benghazi, where four Americans were killed as the administration played it off as an attack sparked by a movie perceived as anti-Muslim.
And let’s not forget the whole “there’s no such thing as radical Islamic terrorism” that’s fueled Obama’s policy outlook on the international front. According to Obama, Muslims commit about the same level of random acts of violence as any other religion. No such thing as jihad; no such thing as Islamic terror. How’s that help his rating with our nation’s military?
Putting America’s military at risk in the war on terror…that can’t be good for Obama’s ratings.
