If you weren’t aware, the United States has a very, very active vice president.
Historically, VPs take a perpetual back seat to the president and even other politicians. But Mike Pence has proven he’s here to play and he WILL make a difference.
Remember when he cast the tie-breaking vote to get Betsy DeVos confirmed as the new education secretary? That was pretty badass.
…and he just did it again.
As we all know, former commander-in-chief Barack Obama and in fact, all Democrats and Liberals, are big fans of organizations like Planned Parenthood. They have no issues with abortion. Mother’s “happiness” first, human life second.
But no matter which side of the abortion fence you’re on, you have to admit that forcing taxpayers to fund abortions is just asinine. Just another Obama-era regulation that had to go.
President Trump has been smashing Obama regs with one massive sledgehammer, including the recent EPA executive order that once again sent Liberals into full meltdown mode.
Now it’s Pence’s turn. From Western Journalism:
“Vice President Mike Pence was called upon once again to cast a tie-breaking vote in the Senate, this time to overturn an Obama era regulation blocking states from denying federal funds to abortion providers including Planned Parenthood.
As was the case last month when Pence first had to step in to cast the deciding vote to confirm Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, liberal Republican Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine were the defectors, setting up the 50-50 tie.”
The vote took place under the Congressional Review Act, which allows Congress to overturn regulations with a majority vote in both chambers, along with a presidential signature.
STORY CONTINUES BELOW…
Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn., filed the CRA bills to overturn this Obama rule, and stated:
“According to its 2014-2015 annual report, Planned Parenthood performed 323,999 abortion procedures in just one year. Taxpayers should not be forced to subsidize the abortion industry in this country.
Nor should they be forced to foot the bill for an organization like Planned Parenthood that has displayed such blatant disregard for human life.”
It’s fantastic to see Pence taking it to the Democrats, and he has also proven to be an excellent partner for Trump, vocally supporting our new leader on critical issues like our crumbling infrastructure.
As for this rescinded abortion rule, the House had already voted in February to overturn the rule 230-188. Now it’s through the Senate. All that’s left is for Trump to sign it…and you can bet he will.
