Every passing day, the Democratic Party becomes more detached from reality.
It has become abundantly clear that they’re no longer on the side of America, as their policy pursuits are aimed at tearing the nation apart.
While they’ve weaponized many issues to aid them in this pursuit, the most powerful of all is their immigration agenda.
Already, they’ve flooded the nation with foreigners, but that simply isn’t enough for the Left. They’re now on a crusade to brainwash us into believing that immigrants are more American than apple pie.
Your ancestors may have been here for generations, worked in the mills or mines in the Midwest, died in a foreign land to protect our freedoms, but that doesn’t matter.
No, that doesn’t matter at all because the H1B, illegal, or refugee that came here a few weeks ago knows better what being an American is all about. That’s the liberal narrative, fellow Patriot.
And emblematic of this suicidal belief are the recent actions of Democratic Rep. Luis Correa.
Correa said the image represents “a young Muslim lady who is trying very hard to be part of America, who is trying very hard to show people that she is an American.”
Wow, brings a tear to the eye. Despite his transparent attempt to pander and make himself out to be a good guy, not everyone is buying it.
The artwork drew the ire of local campaigners We The People Rising who said:
“It’s a bad example for our congressman. He shouldn’t have anything religious in his office. … I would like to see our Congress people be right-down-the-line patriotic.”
It’s always a joy to watch liberals eat themselves alive, as this group is merely upset about what they see as a violation of church and state.
But Correa claims he already ran the art past the Office of the Legislative Counsel and no legal issues exist with displaying the art. He said he would not remove the art, which is hanging as part of a contest among local student artists.
“You take it in the context of a lady, probably a Muslim American — with all that’s going on, she’s a proud American,” Correa said. “That’s what it says to me.”
STORY CONTINUES BELOW…
Interesting that until now, Correa hasn’t had any kind of artwork such as this in his office. It makes one wonder why now, and why only when such an iconic image is being used to make an asinine political point.
Correa, like his Democrat comrades, consistently take our immigrant history out of context to promote their radical agenda.
They disregard all the facts surrounding past policies, instead always invoking the “nation of immigrants” line to back up their foolish stance on the issue. Even if their false claims were true, it doesn’t mean we should be prisoners of past policies.
Meaning that just because we did something in the past, we don’t have to continue doing it. This is especially true for immigration.
It’s far past time for our open door policies to be changed, as is the notion that merely stepping across our border makes you an American.
As any true American knows, it takes a great deal more than that.
